Rosario Dawson, Giada De Laurentiis, Jim Belushi and Lance Bass will guest star in new episodes of Playhouse Disney’s hit Emmy-nominated series “Handy Manny,” beginning MONDAY, DECEMBER 7 (9:00 a.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Dawson (“Sin City,” “Rent”) guest stars as a marine biologist, De Laurentiis (“Everyday Italian”) plays the owner of a pizza parlor, Belushi (“According to Jim”) joins in the fun as a drawbridge operator and Lance Bass (“Dancing with the Stars”) returns in the recurring role of klutzy “surfer dude,” Elliot.
The new episode schedule is as follows:
Monday, December 7
“A Whale of a Tale/Julieta’s Loose Tooth” (9:00 a.m. ET/PT) – Manny and the tools are enjoying a day at the beach when a marine biologist (voiced by Dawson) approaches them with an emergency – an orca whale has washed up on the shore. Manny and the tools build a makeshift whale-sized stretcher to assist with getting the giant mammal back into the water. In the second story of the episode, when Julieta’s loose tooth falls out and tumbles into the sink and down the drain, it is up to Manny and the tools to retrieve the lost tooth and return it to Julieta so she can put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy.

The long-awaited “Sin City 2″ will finally begin production in the second half of 2010, to be followed by a possible adaptation of Frank Miller’s “Hard Boiled.”
According to a report on Mania, “Sin City 2” producer Stephen L’Heureux confirmed that the story will be based upon an original script by Miller, who will once again co-direct the sequel with Robert Rodriguez .
Additionally, L’Heureux revealed that Miller is writing the screenplay adaptation for “Hard Boiled”, which Miller is also attached to direct.
Originally published by Dark Horse in 1990, “Hard Boiled” paired Miller and artist Geof Darrow on an oversized three issue miniseries. The ultra violent story follows an insurance investigator named Carl Seltz who discovers that he is a cyborg who may be the only hope of an enslaved robot population.
However, with “Sin City 2” on deck and “Hard Boiled” still at an early stage of development, it may not happen immediately.
“We’re still developing [‘Hard Boiled’]. We got the project in turnaround from Warner Bros and Frank,” L’Heureux explained. “With ‘Sin City’ just on the horizon I don’t think we’d be able to do it with Frank right away. As simple as ‘Sin City’ seems, it’s a very complex scheduling with all these actors and it’s a very demanding shoot to be on a sound stage all day long. We have to space it for Frank.”
“Hard Boiled” was originally optioned back in 2001 by director David Fincher with Nicolas Cage onboard to star. Following a long period of inactivity, Miller told MTV News last year that “Hard Boiled” was back in development.
“Sin City 2” has also taken a long road back to the big screen. Last month, Clive Owen told MTV News that production would begin next year. Several stars from the first “Sin City” have said they would return for the sequel, including Jamie King, Michael Clark Duncan, Rosario Dawson and Alexis Bledel.
L’Heureux also hinted that “Sin City 3” might also be in the works.

President Obama is turning to a handful of Hollywood stars to judge a contest that asks grassroots supporters to create a television commercial promoting health care reform.
Musician Will.I.Am, actor John Cho, actress Rosario Dawson, actor Dulé Hill, “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane, actor Brandon Routh, actress Kate Walsh and actress Olivia Wilde will join Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine, DNC Executive Director Jen O’Malley Dillon, Rep. Patrick Murphy of Pennsylvania, Obama campaign manager David Plouffe and volunteers in helping to pick the 30-second commercial that will air nationally, a DNC official tells CNN.
The contest is being run by Obama’s political arm – Organizing for America – which is housed at DNC headquarters in Washington, DC. It is the latest effort by the president’s political team to try and enlist the grassroots to help pressure Congress to pass health care reform this year.
“We know that compelling videos can touch people in a way that words alone simply cannot,” Natalie Foster, OFA’s new media director, said in an e-mail announcing the contest last week. “The messages that regular people put together will make a bigger difference than any false smears or slick ads the other side can dream up. And who knows — your creative, powerful, or touching video could help tip the balance in favor of health reform.”
OFA will officially announce the names of the judges late Wednesday morning. The contest ends October 18.

There is a chance that “Sin City 2″ will kick off its production in 2010. The possibility has been thrown in by the star of “Sin City”, Clive Owen, himself when MTV caught up with him at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival while promoting his new film “The Boys Are Back”.
Asked whether a sequel is indeed in the horizon, the 44-year-old quickly responded, “I’m hearing it might be next year,” before adding, “I heard that from a very good source…recently.” Pressed further from whom he heard the news, the leading man of “The International” coyly suggested that he may hear it from either Frank Miller or Robert Rodriguez.
The story of “Sin City 2″ may likely come from Frank Miller’s “A Dame to Kill For”, which has been long rumored to be adapted into big screen. The novel itself tells an earlier story of Dwight McCarthy that is portrayed by Clive Owen. Director Robert Rodriguez previously stated that the sequel would blend old “Sin City” element with new story lines by Miller.
Rodriguez and Miller will team up to direct the movie. Some of the original cast who will reprise their roles include Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, Brittany Murphy, Mickey Rourke and Michael Clarke Duncan. The release date is also still to be determined, but it is believed to take place in 2010.
