Neenah Taylor, local Baltimore singer/actress/model and song writer appears in the new film, “Explicit Ills,” starring Rosario Dawson (Descent), rapper Tariq Trotter (known as Black Thought of the Roots) and Paul Franklin Dano (Little Miss Sunshine). The film, shot in Philadelphia, is directed by actor Mark Webber (The Good Life) and tells the story of the effects of drugs and poverty and the choices people make. Dawson plays the mother of an asthmatic son who has no health insurance.

Neenah is finishing up yet another film, “Sister Switch,” written/produced and directed by Torrance Calvin (www.24kblackfilms.com). That film is about a nerdy young girl, Ashleigh Cole (Neenah Taylor), whose big sister; Taylor Cole (Drew Sidora), is a very popular entertainer and Ashleigh’s dream is being just as popular as her sister. With the support of her father (Kadeem Hardison) her dream comes true.

Kadeem Hardison is best known for starring in the weekly sitcom, “A Different World,” a spin off of “The Crosby Show.” He also starred in “White Men Can’t Jump” and “School Daze.” In 1990 and 1992 Hardison received an NAACP Image Awards for his acting. He recently appeared in the special, “The Fantasia Barrino Story,” as the father of American Idol winner Fantasia. Drew Sidora has appeared on “The Game,” “Girlfriends,” “That’s So Raven,” “White Chicks,” “Without a Trace” and most recently “Wild Hogs” starring Martin Lawrence.

Neenah is an accomplished singer/song writer and model having performed as opening act for such artists as Trey Songz, Angela Bofill and Angie Stone. She has performed for the Mayor and Governor of Baltimore, ARTSCAPE and the African-American Heritage Festival.

Neenah Taylor is a member of SAG and AFTRA and has also modeled for such companies as Toy’s R Us, Daimler Chrysler, Apple Computer, CarMax Freddie Mac, Pampers, and the Baltimore Aquarium.

Trio to star in ‘Poor Things’

Lindsay Lohan, Rosario Dawson and Channing Tatum have joined the cast of grandma gang comedy “Poor Things,” toplined by Shirley MacLaine and Olympia Dukakis with Ash Baron Cohen directing.

MacLaine’s also producing with Rob Hickman through his newly minted Still Rolling Prods. Shooting’s starting Wednesday.

Trent Haaga’s script was inspired by real news events and crime scandals surrounding recent arrests and convictions of elderly women for various “grandma gang” exploits, which have included scams and cons involving drug sales, insurance fraud and murder.

Lohan was most recently seen in “Georgia Rule” while Dawson appeared in “Grindhouse.” Tatum toplined “Step Up” and is set to star in “Dear John” and crime actioner “Parcour.”

“Poor Things” marks the first production for Still Rolling, which plans to develop and produce five projects over the next three years in the $5 million to $10 million budget range.
