Rosario Dawson and Lynn Collins are the latest to nab roles in Ten Year, the directing debut of screenwriter Jamie Linden (We Are Marshall).

The actresses beef up the female contingent of the ensemble drama that also stars Jenna Dewan, Kate Mara and Anna Faris. Brian Geraghty, Justin Long, Channing Tatum, Chris Pratt, Chris Pine, Anthony Mackie and Scott Porter fill out the guy side of the high school reunion film.

Dawson: ‘Sin City 2 will honour Murphy’
Written by on November 23rd, 2010

Rosario Dawson has said that a Sin City sequel will honour Brittany Murphy should it get made.

Murphy, who played strip club worker Shellie in Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s 2005 original, passed away in December last year.

“We’ve been talking about [the sequel] for so many years after we’d made the first one and to do it again, now she’s not with us anymore, that would be something we’d be very specific about making an acknowledgement to and making sure she’s a part of it,” Dawson told Digital Spy.

“She was such an integral part of the first film, such an amazing actress and person and we miss her and I think it would be a great opportunity to honour her by doing a second film and making sure we acknowledge that.”

Discussing the possibility of the follow-up, and her character Gail, Dawson said: “I really hope it happens. I don’t know how much longer I can fit into that outfit! I do get to wear a mask this time, which I am looking forward to.

“I love Frank and I love Robert and I love that world. I think it’s really insane and intense. It’s incredible to see how much that movie has affected things in so many movies I’ve seen since.”

In Zookeeper, the animals at the Franklin Park Zoo love their kindhearted caretaker, Griffin Keyes (Kevin James). Finding himself more comfortable with a lion than a lady, Griffin decides the only way to get a girl in his life is to leave the zoo and find a more glamorous job. To keep Griffin from leaving, they decide to teach him the rules of courtship – animal style. The film also stars Rosario Dawson and Leslie Bibb and features the voices of Cher, Nick Nolte, Adam Sandler, and Sylvester Stallone.

‘Sin City 2′ Will Pay Tribute To Brittany Murphy, says Rosario Dawson
Written by on October 28th, 2010

At this point in the “Sin City 2″ news cycle, it’s not too much of a stretch to say that we’ve heard it all before. Robert Rodriguez can’t wait to start! All the cast members are ready to go! Etc., etc. Still, we have hope! And it doesn’t stop us asking key participants like Rosario Dawson what they’ve heard about a possible start date.

“I have not heard very much except that Robert [Rodriguez] is still insistent that we’re going to make it and we’re going to make sure to put something in there for Brittany [Murphy] to recognize her,” the “Unstoppable” actress revealed. “Unfortunately it’s been so long now and she’s not with us anymore and she was a huge integral part to that first film, it would be important to do that.”

“I’m even more inspired to get it done now,” she added.

With the actors, filmmakers and fans all on board for the long-delayed, much-discussed potential sequel to Robert Rodriguez’s 2005 adaptation of Frank Miller’s celebrated comic book noir, the sticking points likely involve studio dollars and scheduling.

Particularly for Rodriguez, who just came off “Machete” and is currently in the midst of “Spy Kids 4,” and constantly mentioned in the continuing “Deadpool” discussions. Nevertheless, he has insisted that it will never be too late for a “Sin City 2.”

“No, never, but I just don’t want to wait that long,” he said. “I know Frank doesn’t want to wait that long.”

Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson and Denzel Washington on the ‘Incredible Experience’ Filming ‘Unstoppable’
Written by on October 26th, 2010

ET chatted with the stars of ‘Unstoppable’ and got them to open up about the movie, their kids and more!

“I don’t think I ever will look at a train the same way,” said Rosario Dawson, who found a new respect for railroad workers while shooting the movie.

‘Unstoppable’ revolves around a veteran engineer (Denzel Washington) and a young conductor (Chris Pine), who are trying to stop a runaway train carrying toxic chemicals before it derails.

“It’s really remarkable that this happened,” Rosario told us about the film, which was inspired by true events. “It’s something that’s never been done before and probably will never be done again.”

Pine told us that the story wasn’t the only remarkable part of working on the movie, calling the opportunity to work with some of his “heroes,” Denzel and director Tony Scott, “an incredible experience.”

“One of the first movies I ever watched repeatedly was ‘Top Gun’ and one of the first times I cried watching a movie was ‘Glory,’ so the two men that I can remember early on in my life making a big impact on my career were Denzel Washington and Tony,” said Chris.

During the casting process, Denzel proposed that Chris be chosen for the movie and complimented the young actor’s abilities, saying, “He’s good.”

We asked Denzel if he expected his children to follow in his footsteps.

“One of my children is an actress,” Denzel said. “She’s studying, and I told her, ‘You’re going to learn on the stage first,’ and she’s working on her first play right now.”

The Oscar winner told us that all of his children are film buffs, but he hasn’t pushed them in one direction or the other: “Whatever it is they want to do, that’s what I want them to do,” said the actor.

‘Unstoppable’ slams into theaters November 12.
